We accept referral from Community Mental Health Teams, Midwives, Obstetricians, Crisis Teams, GPs and Health visitors. Women are also able to self-refer under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 parts 2 & 3.
Our referrals ask that specific perinatal mental health needs are specified and are provided alongside an Edinburgh Post Natal Depression scale, GAD 7 or PHQ9 to be considered as a team during our multi-disciplinary team meeting.
Referrals are accepted via our central inbox below and via Paris. All routine referrals are discussed weekly in our MDT on a Wednesday morning, and urgent referrals are discussed the same day with a senior member of the team.

Please see the Referral Guide document and Ask Assess and Act triage scale for further guidance to aid with decision making.
Each day there is a staff member allocated as a duty worker, who is the main point of contact for all queries. The duty system operates daily from 09.00am to 4.30pm. Clinicians are allocated a set duty day where they will be available to take telephone calls for advice and consultation from other clinicians, patients and members of the public. They will screen all new referrals and undertake emergency duty assessments.
Safe Working
It is important that each team member updates their calendars to reflect their activities for the day and during the working week and that the team lead for that day has access to them. This is in line with UHB policy.
It is imperative that at the end of each day a designated team member, usually the Duty Clinician, ensures they have contact with each team member. Please ensure the team leader has correct details for you, including address, next of kin, car and registration details.
